10 Things To Know About Mrs. Thornton

1. My husband (Adam) and I have been married 21 years. He is also a DCSD teacher and is a local photographer.

2. We have two boys. Tucker is in 10th grade at Lutheran High School and Cooper is in 7th grade at Mesa Middle School. They both attended Sage Canyon. 

3. I received  my bachelors in education from Shorter College in Rome, Georgia. I received my masters degree from Grand Canyon University. 

4. This is my 11th year teaching in Douglas County.

5. I took 10 years off after having Cooper to be a stay at home mom. 

6. I taught collegiate level classes at Grand Canyon University for several years. 

7. In my free time I like to go on hikes, play games, read, kayak, paddle board and spend time with my family. I LOVE Disney! 

8. I have taught kids at Plum Creek Church for the past 13 years.

9. I cannot eat anything with gluten or dairy in it. I am very familiar with allergies because my son has some. If your kid has allergies please reach out to me! 

10. We have one pet….a bearded dragon named Ash. And yes, I do hold her. :)
