ย "Design is thinking made visual." - Saul Bass
Digital Design is a hands-on course that introduces students to the fundamentals of digital art and graphic design using Procreate on iPads. Through creative projects, students will explore drawing techniques, color theory, composition, typography, and digital illustration while learning how professional designers use technology to communicate ideas.
Students will develop their artistic skills by creating original artwork, logos, posters, stickers, character designs, and other digital media. Along the way, they will learn to use layers, brushes, selections, masks, and other Procreate tools to bring their ideas to life.
The course emphasizes creativity, problem-solving, and design thinking while encouraging students to experiment, revise, and build confidence in their artistic abilities. By the end of the class, students will have developed a portfolio of digital artwork that showcases their technical skills, creativity, and personal style.
To be successful, please bring these items to class every day, everything except the iPad stays with you:
[ ] Sharpened pencils (or mechanical)
[ ] Daily Planner
[ ] Map pencils/Color pencils (a personal hand sharpener works well to sharpen these)
We will have a class set of color pencils, but you are allowed to bring your own.
[ ] Charged Ipad and pen (School Provided, this will stay in the classroom at all times).
I do not assign extra homework. We work hard during class time!
If you stay focused and finish your work in class, you have no homework.
Due to iPads staying in the classroom and the use of Procreate, unfinished classwork will need to be completed during school hours. Please email me to schedule a time to work on unfinished work.
