Explore the world. Question the past. Shape the future.
Individuals and Societies 6 introduces students to the study of people, places, and societies through an inquiry-based approach that integrates history, geography, civics, economics, and culture. Students investigate how individuals and communities interact with each other and with their environments while developing an understanding of local and global issues. Through research, analysis of evidence, critical thinking, and collaboration, students learn to evaluate multiple perspectives, make informed decisions, and become responsible global citizens. The course emphasizes conceptual understanding, real-world connections, and the development of communication, investigation, and reflection skills in alignment with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme framework.ย

"Finish-it-at-home"
I do not assign extra homework. We work hard during class time!
If you stay focused and finish your work in class, you have no homework.
If you need more time, unfinished classwork becomes homework to be completed before the next class.
Digital First: Check our online class page to see the agenda and resources for the day you missed.
Ask a Peer: Ask a table partner if there are any specific notes you need to copy.
Check the class binder: Look in the class binder for any paper handouts.
Note: If you still have questions, please ask Mrs. Murrey during independent work time, not while she is teaching the whole group.
Our one classroom rule:
If what you're doing interferes with learning, hurts someone's heart, or prevents you from being your best self, you shouldn't be doing it.
Technology is a tool, not a toy!
Charge It: Please charge your Chromebook every day. We have very few outlets in our classroom.
Headphones: Keep them in your bag until instructed. We use them for video resources and independent work, but not during group instruction.
