Ben Hizer is the Director of Vocal Music at Mountain Vista High School and Mountain Ridge Middle School, where he conducts the Concert Choir, Golden Silhouettes, Goldtones, the Middle School 7/8 Choir, and teaches the Voice Class. He will also vocal direct the musical at both schools each year.
Mr. Hizer graduated from Regis University with a degree in Music Education, where he was the Assistant Director for 3 years under the direction of Dr. Clelyn Chapin and Dr. Raul Dominguez. While there, he was a member of the Concert Choir and the Collegium Musicum, as well as the RU Jazz Choir, which he founded and directed.
Since graduating, Mr. Hizer has stayed involved in the world of music. He has been a ringer for multiple churches, sung with the groups Gaudium Verum and Seicento Baroque Ensemble, and has guest conducted at Grace Presbyterian Church. Mr. Hizer will also be starting as the Assitant Director of the Colorado Choir in September. When not teaching, Mr. Hizer can be found making music at home, camping/hiking, playing board games, and occasionally working out at an American Ninja Warrior Gym.
