More About Me

Hello Legacy Point Elementary. My name is Nicholas Nassimbene. I spent 16 years working as a controls engineer in the metal container industry. After a short sabbatical I decided to teach. I spent 6 months subbing in the special education program at LPE. I am now teaching STEAM at LPE. I am also attending the University of Colorado at Denver ASPIRE program to get my teaching license. I have two kids who currently attend LPE and my wife also works at Legacy Point as a kindergarten teacher.

In my free time I like to 3-D print, road trip, and spend time at my cabin. I enjoy researching technology and personal finance. I have also been know to play a video game or two. I love to tinker and hope to explore the "maker" movement as part of my STEAM curriculum.

I have lived in Colorado my whole life and even graduated from Ponderosa High School. I started in the DCSD system when I was in the 3rd grade (Mountain View, North East, Sagewood, and finally Ponderosa High School). I graduated from the University of Colorado at Denver with a bachelors of science in electrical engineering.  Over my career I worked in over 14 different countries including Poland, China, Mexico, and Brazil.
