Since I am new to this school, all of the classes are focusing on getting to know each other and playing fun music and dancing games. Each day we do a Song of the Day to get the students excited about music and wanting to learn. All students are also learning how the 8 habits can apply in the music classroom.

• Kindergarten-1st: We are going to focus on keeping a steady beat and being able to distinguish between loud and quiet in music.

• 2nd: We are learning to collaborate as a group through whole class and group singing games and beat passing activities. We're learning about pitched and non-pitched percussion instruments.

• 3rd-5th: Our first rotation we got to know each other through name singing/steady beat games and collaborative activities. We will be focusing on rhythm this semester. Third grade will be learning about the instruments of the orchestra.
