I am very excited to be a part of Cougar Run Elementary. This is my 26th year of teaching and my nineth year at Cougar Run.
I am a Colorado native, born and raised in Littleton. I graduated from Columbine High School. My educational path continued with obtaining my Associates of Arts from the Community College of Southern Nevada and my bachelors in Elementary Education from Southern Utah University and my masters in Administrative Leadership and Policy Studies from University of Colorado Denver. I taught my first year in Las Vegas, Nevada. Then came back home to Colorado and spent 11 years in the Englewood School District and five years in Denver Public School District. I have taught ECE, first grade, third grade, third grade departmentalized math science, fourth grade departmentalized math science, sixth grade departmentalized math, literacy, and social studies/science as well as Dean of Students at a middle school.
I have a wonderful, supportive husband of 20 years and we have one furry feline baby, Mattie. Mattie will be 17 and is an adorable tuxedo who brings us entertainment, joy, and love!
Third grade is a big year as your child continues to develop academic and social skills. It is a transition from learning how to read to reading to learn. It is also the first year of CMAS testing. I believe that all students possess the qualities to succeed in all they do. Communication and collaboration are key to the success of your child. Please feel free to contact me via email at any time.
I look forward to working with you and your child!
