Collaborators/Partners

A SHOUT OUT of thanks to all of these incredible partners helping to make this project happen!

  • LTE PTO - Our PTO has provided a generous financial contribution in order to establish the basic framework for this area, including grading, tilling, irrigation, a pathway, and an outdoor learning area for our students. They have also funded several grants based on student projects. Our biggest thanks and appreciation to our PTO and all of our families who donate during our Mane Event fundraiser!

  • Community members - Our Legacy Tree Project has been supported by family members with money specifically designated toward the initial planting of Legacy Trees including irrigation and soil amendment to guarantee the survival of these trees. We can't thank these families enough!

  • DCSD Sustainability - The Sustainability Department of Douglas County School District has been incredibly supportive in providing our students with a $400 grant to purchase shrubs and plants to line our Meditation Path through the park. They also provided students with four bluebird nesting boxes to locate in the park as well as along the adjacent Willow Creek Pathway. Thanks to Beth Church for her personal support for this project!

  • Douglas Conserve - The Douglas County Conservation District, Bill Vanderpoehl, has provided us with resources, guidance, and support. He has personally gathered and dropped off river rock for our 4th grade to paint as part of their Colorado Showcase area. He has worked with nurseries to provide us with rock-bottom prices for bushed and plants. Thanks to Bill!

  • Steering Committee for the Community Gardens at Lone Tree Elementary - Monica Fitzwater, who has been a part of the steering committee since the inception of the gardens has generously offered to have the committee provide funds for plants or to purchase plants to be planted in Biodiversity Park. Thanks to Monica!

  • Audubon Denver - Participating in programs through Audubon Denver, our students have engaged in conservation projects and benefitted from learning experiences and resources of experts in conservation and biodiversity. Special thanks to Emily Hertz for providing guidance and exceptional learning experiences for our students!

  • DCSD Wellness - Chris Bartlett, Health and Fitness teacher at LTE, applied for and received a grant to incorporate a peace path or meditation path as part of our Biodiversity Park. It will be exciting to see that take shape thanks to Chris!
