Tri-M Music Honor Society

Tri-M Music Honor Society is a national organization that recognizes exceptional student musicians who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to service. At Legend High School, eligible students must be in grades 10 to 12 and actively enrolled in a year-long performing arts ensemble such as band, choir, orchestra, or guitar. To qualify, students must maintain an A average in all performing arts classes and hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. In addition to musical and academic achievement, members are required to complete 10 service hours annually to remain in good standing. Applications for Tri-M are distributed during the May meeting at the end of each academic year. If a student misses this meeting, it is their responsibility to obtain an application from Mr. Schultze. There is a $25 membership fee for all inducted students. If you are interested please fill out the Tri-M Application found at the end of the handbook and return it to Mr. Schultze by August 29, 2025.

As part of the Tri-M experience, members also have the opportunity to attend Tri-M Day at CMEA (Colorado Music Educators Association) during the spring semester. This event brings together Tri-M students from across the state for leadership workshops, performances, and networking with other music-focused students. It is an exciting and inspiring opportunity to grow as a musician and student leader.

Disclaimer

There is a $25 yearly membership fee required upon acceptance into the Tri-M Music Honor Society. This fee covers national registration, induction materials, and chapter expenses. If you wish to participate in Tri-M Day in the Spring Semester, there will be an additional non-refundable registration fee.
