Welcome! My name is Jill Montoya, I am the Coordinator for Differentiated Learning and PLS at Heritage Elementary.
I work with teachers in grades K-6 to support learning pathways to meet each individual student's needs. I work in collaboration with each classroom teacher to focus on specific learning goals based on the student's needs. I support our teachers in developing opportunities to stretch student's thinking and adapt their instruction to differentiate for all learners.
I have been teaching for over 29 years and have taught grades Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, as well as served as the English Language Development teacher, and the district Professional Development Coordinator for Jeffco Schools. I have also taught master level teacher development courses at the college level at Colorado Christian University, Metropolitan State University and Adams State College. I love teaching teachers and students of all ages!
My children were Heritage Elementary students as well! My oldest is a junior at Mizzou, I have a Vista graduate that is starting her first year of college at CU Boulder this fall, and to college this fall, and I also have an 11 year old who attends sixth grade at our amazing school!
I am so happy to be a part of the Heritage team! It is an amazing school with world class staff and I am proud to be a Heritage Explorer!
