Welcome! My name is Jill Montoya, I am the Coordinator for Differentiated Learning and PLS at Heritage Elementary.
I work with teachers in grades K-6 to support learning pathways to meet each individual student's needs. I work in collaboration with each classroom teacher to focus on specific learning goals based on the student's needs. I support our teachers in developing opportunities to stretch student's thinking and adapt their instruction to differentiate for all learners.
This is my 31st year teaching, I have taught grades Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, as well as served as the English Language Development teacher, and the district Professional Development Coordinator for Jeffco Schools. I have also taught master level teacher development courses at the college level at Colorado Christian University, Metropolitan State University and Adams State College. I love teaching teachers and students of all ages!
My children were Heritage Elementary students as well! My oldest is a senior at Mizzou, I have a Vista graduate that is starting her sophomore year at CU Boulder, and I also have an 12 year old who attends seventh grade at MRMS!
I am so happy to be a part of the Heritage team! It is an amazing school with world class staff and I am proud to be a Heritage Explorer!
