Identity Management FAQs

What is Identity Management? The DCSD Identity Management system consists of two main components. One automatically activates user accounts and synchronizes passwords across district managed applications. User accounts are generated in various district applications based on position that the employee occupies or the grade and school that the student is enrolled in. Rules have been automated so that accounts can be activated as soon as the employee begins work. The second component validates user login attempts and provides Single Sign-On (SSO) capability for those applications. It essentially asks the question “Who are you?” and then determines what the user should be allowed to access.

How does Identity Management affect me? There is one location to reset your DCSD password if you forget it. If you change schools, job titles, or locations, your access will automatically change. ,Rules are set for job titles and if additional access is needed, the ITSC can add access from one source.

Which applications are affected by the change password process? When you change your password through the DCSD Identity Management System, you will be updating your password in all DCSD Identity Management applications. This includes Workday, Gmail and Google Apps, Infinite Campus, Employee Self-Service, Canvas, Destiny, Web Help Desk, and more.

Which username should I use to login? Usernames are generated based on the employee or student’s legal name, including first, middle and last. If necessary for uniqueness, a sequence number will be added onto the end. User names cannot be changed unless there is a legal name change. Once a legal name change is entered into either the HR system or the Infinite Campus system, the user name will change automatically. Your local technology representative (CRT) can help you with your login. For employees with ongoing issues, you can contact the ITSC at 303-387-0001 or submit a help desk ticket.

What happens if my account has been locked? After multiple failed login attempts, your accounts will be locked. This is a security mechanism to prevent your account from being compromised by a program or hacker repeatedly trying different combinations of passwords. You can unlock your own account by resetting your password on our Password Reset page. Your account can also be unlocked by a CRT or an ITSC technician.
