Description: 

This is a map of the fascist states in Europe during World War II. It includes not only the primary Axis powers, Germany and Italy, but the fascist governments established by them in nations such as France, Poland, Albania, and Greece, along with the associated fascist states, such as Hungary, Croatia, and Vichy France. Allied against them were the United Kingdom and the U.S.S.R., along with portions of the Middle East.

This map charts the course of World War II in Europe and (to a lesser extent) the Middle East. Land shaded brown represents the maximum extent of the Axis advance. Red and yellow lines represent Allied advances—red for the Soviets, and yellow for the western Allies. Different lines represent Allied positions at different times; they are labeled with the appropriate dates.
