MEET MS. KRISTY

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

This is my 6th year on staff at FCE in Fazio’s Den. I was a substitute teacher at FCE for 2 years prior. When I lived in Texas, I taught First Grade for 2 years. I have tutored ESL and reading for 20 years.

My goal is to empower children to use strategies including body movement, breathing, and mindfulness to support their physical and emotional regulation. I believe only a regulated child can learn.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree from East Texas Baptist University with an emphasis in Reading and a Texas Teaching Certification Grades 1- 8.  I have a Registered Behavior Technician certification from the Institute for Behavioral Training.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

I have been married for 25 years. My husband served in the United States Air Force for 20 of those years in which we moved 13 times including to Japan. I have a daughter Kalyssa who is in graduate school, a son Brett who is a sophomore at Colorado State University, and a 7th grade daughter Ashlynn.

I enjoy traveling and exploring the great outdoors. I love to hike, walk my dogs, and spend as much time as possible with my family and friends.
