Hi! I was born in Iowa and absolutely love the Iowa Hawkeyes! My family moved to Colorado when I was in First Grade so I grew up in Castle Rock and went all the way through Douglas County Schools. I graduated with a bachelor's degree from Metro State College and went on to get my master's degree through Regis University. When I began my teaching career 26 years ago at Sedalia Elementary, I knew I had found a great place to be! I have taught third grade, second grade and landed in first-which I absolutely love! I love the people I work with and the kids I see every day!

My husband, Neil, and I have three boys and four dogs! Our house is loud and busy! Hudson, a Junior at Mountain Vista High School, is almost 17, Grayson will be 8th grade at Mountain Ridge Middle School, and Quinn is a sixth grader at Sedalia! My three boys spent all of their elementary years at this great school. I love spending time with my family and getting outdoors to do fun things. We play a lot of sports, but basketball is our favorite!

I love teaching and will take good care of your child all year long! I treat my class like family-with love and respect. We are one big family, who will depend on each other all year long. Please email me anytime with any questions or concerns.

Hello everyone!

My name is Lexi Minnick, formerly known as Lexi Shriver, and I am thrilled to be teaching first grade at Sedalia this year. Like many of the students here, I grew up in Sedalia, Colorado, and attended Sedalia Elementary from 1st to 6th grade. I had the wonderful experience of growing up in the country, where I enjoyed being around horses and various farm animals. I am a former trick rider and still ride Western today.

Currently, I live in Castle Rock, where I have bought my first home with my husband, Bridger. In my free time, I love going to the gym, cooking and baking, and crafting with my Cricut! I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with the highest honors in Elementary Education (K-6) and have a CLD endorsement (K-12). I am also pursuing my master’s degree at UNC, focusing on Educational Psychology.

I have several years of experience with preschool and Pre-K, and I was fortunate to complete my student teaching in first grade at Sedalia Elementary. After that, I worked as a first-grade teacher at Acres Green Elementary, which I loved. Luckily, Sedalia Elementary welcomed me back to my roots, allowing me to continue my career as a first-grade teacher and later as a second-grade teacher last school year. I truly love working with children and believe that teaching is my calling; I have never been happier in any other role.
