All About Me – Chris Kern
"The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away." -David Viscott
My inspiration for teaching comes from a deep desire to create a positive, nurturing, and joyful learning environment where every student feels safe, valued, and encouraged to grow. I strive to foster a classroom that is warm, welcoming, and full of enthusiasm—where learning is not only meaningful but also fun. As a lifelong learner myself, I believe in setting high expectations, guided by purposeful, research-based practices. I also believe in the power of mutual respect and accountability, working together to support one another’s success. My hope is to inspire a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.
I received my B.A in Interdisciplinary Studies/Literacy and Teacher certification from Adams State University.
My husband, Jim and I have three sons and a granddaughter. Our oldest is Michael, he is thirty-nine years old, Nicholas, is thirty-five years old, and Jeremy, is thirty-two. Nicholas and Jeremy are both Veterans of the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Marines, both are now currently serving in the Air National Guard. Michael, our oldest has given us our first grandchild, a beautiful girl, Anna Maria, she is ten years old and is a very active little princess:)
We have been married for thirty-five years now and have a home in Littleton. We have two furry family members, Denver, a fox red lab and Hondo, a german shepherd. In addition, we are blessed with a grand puppy, Chief, a chocolate lab, who visits a lot. As a family we love to watch movies, walk the dogs and be outdoors and relax. When I have the time I love to read a good historical fiction book and paddle board.
This is my twenty-seventh year working with children in Kindergarten at Douglas County Schools and at Eldorado Elementary for twenty-three of them now. Eldorado is my home and Kindergarten is my passion. The stories I hear, the hugs I receive and being a part of a child's life never gets old. Let's just say I am not here for the pay :) Thanks for sharing your children.
