Music at Eldorado

Music is a universal language! Every child can learn music just as he or she would learn a native language. Combining Orff, Kodaly and Suzuki philosophies, I believe children of all ages can learn music by a gentle and friendly approach much like their world of play and as they “learn by doing” they also learn the elements of music. Concepts are introduced and reinforced through listening, singing, poetry, chants, games, movement, songs and dances.

Music can be anything from folk songs to songs that are invented by the children themselves. Adding simple instruments such as xylophones and small percussion will enhance and expand the learning experience like a mini orchestra! This kind of basic music making is simple and has a universal appeal. It is easily learned by students of all ages with wide ranging learning styles. Growth opportunities happen naturally including a process into notion (reading and writing), improvisation and composition. The music classroom then, becomes a joyful place for children to discover, explore and have fun creating music!
