BACKGROUND: I am a fourth generation Colorado native! Born and raised in Denver, I started piano lessons at age 5, violin at 9 and guitar when I was 12. I graduated from Kennedy High School in Denver and Colorado State University in Fort Collins where I received a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Violin Performance.
TEACHING: I was honored to be hired as part of the staff that opened Eldorado Elementary teaching general music, choir and string orchestra. I have also been the string orchestra teacher for the TRHS area elementary schools. Previously I taught at Colorado College and Fountain Valley High School in Colorado Springs.
PERFORMING: As a professional violinist, I perform in the Colorado Springs Philharmonic where my positions have included Principal second violin and Assistant concertmaster. I have also performed with the Colorado Chamber Orchestra, Colorado Ballet, Breckenridge Music Institute, Fort Collins and Colorado Symphonies, Sunriver Orchestra in Oregon and the DaVinci String Quartet. With the quartet we performed concerts throughout many states and recorded three CD's of American chamber music. I've also enjoyed playing with many celebrities including Chet Atkins, Natalie Cole, Judy Collins, John Denver, James Gallway, Burl Ives, Henry Mancini, Michael Martin Murphy, Luciano Pavarotti, Itzhak Perlman, Smokey Robinson, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and Yo Yo Ma.
OTHER INTERESTS: In addition to performing , I love to play with my mother, an accomplished pianist who is now 94! My favorite past-time is spending time with family and visiting my grandpa's cabin in Como, Colorado; a historic railroad town. I enjoy helping with historic preservation projects there as well as hiking, fishing and viewing the magnificent scenery.
All aboard for more adventures in Music!
