Athletic Expectations
I. Forms/Paperwork/Money
•ATHLETES MUST HAVE PHYSICAL FORM IN TO PRACTICE
•All paperwork and fees MUST be turned in by day 3 to continue practicing.

II. Practice Times
• Monday - Thursday (REQUIRED)
• 3:00-3:05 - In Gym Going Through Warm Up Routine
• 3:05- 4:45 - Team Practice
• MUST BE PICKED UP DIRECTLY AT 4:45 P.M.
• Friday Practice
• 3:00-3:05 - In Gym Going Through Warm Up Routine
• 3:05-4:15 - Team Practice
• MUST BE PICKED UP DIRECTLY AT 4:15 P.M.
III. Rules of Conduct and Participation
A. Behavior Infractions (Disrespect toward other players/schools/etc.)
• 1st incident - Coach and Athlete Discussion
• Referral/ “In School” Suspension– sit out half game
• Out of School Suspension – Miss game
· Removal from team for multiple incidents.
B. Excused Absence (Excused from School, Homework Center, Doctor’s Appt.)
•1 excused = Limited Playing Time
•2 excused = Limited Playing Time
•3 excused = Won’t Play Next Game
C. Unexcused Absence (Ex: Unexcused from School,)
•1 unexcused = Won’t Play Next Game
•2 unexcused = Won’t Play Next Game/Parent Contact
•3 unexcused = Removal From Team
D. Miscellaneous
• Forget Practice Jersey = Treated as an Excused Absence
• Forget Game Jersey = Player does NOT play
IV. Eligibility
•Part of your responsibility as an athlete is to be responsible in the
classroom. Eligibility list will be valid from Tuesday to Tuesday and is based on Content Knowledge and Work Habits.
“I” in Content and “U” in Work Habit will make you ineligible.
An ineligible player will miss the away game for that week.
• Ineligible = Practice but does NOT play in game
If you miss school you cannot play in the game that same day. You must be at school for a minimum of 3 ½ hours of school to be eligible.
V. Jerseys/Uniforms
•Each person is responsible for their assigned practice/game uniforms
•Players who damage or lose Uniform will be billed $50
•There will be NO exchanging of jerseys for practice and/or games
VI. Transportation
A. Home Games
•There will be NO buses. Arrangements MUST be made to pick up
athletes from the school.
B. Away Games
•There are NO buses. Parents will need to provide transportation to
and from games. Carpooling is recommended. Please use the Remind
app to communicate with other parents on the team.
Players must be signed out from all away games.
VII. Sportsmanship and Player Conduct
• Our program is in deep support of Douglas County School District’s
commitment to excellence in promoting positive behavior for all those
involved in the areas of athletics - coaches, players and parents alike.
The district’s philosophical statement:

We expect our coaches, players and parents to promote behavior that
supports our district’s philosophy on sportsmanship and conduct.
