Originally from East Los Angeles, California, I moved to Colorado with my daughter in 2002 and have loved every moment since. We moved into Douglas County in 2003 and the first of my children entered the Douglas County School District in 2007. I began my teaching career in 2004, 9 of those years spent teaching STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) at the middle school level in Cherry Creek School District. I absolutely love exploring the ever changing world of technology and guiding students through the learning process. I began my career in education as an emergency teacher while I was completing my masters degree in Psychology/School Counseling. From there, I realized that my passion was teaching not counseling and I pursued obtaining my teaching license in 2005. I began working in DCSD at Castle Rock MS in the Fall of 2015 where had the opportunity to teach digital design as well as yearbook journalism (which I fell in love with). I was awarded national recognition as a Rising Star for yearbook advising by the Journalism Education Association at the National Scholastic Press Association convention in Chicago, November 2018. The yearbook program has also been awarded several state and national awards which include 2 Columbia Scholastic Press Association Crown awards and 2 National Scholastic Press Association Pacemaker nomination. In the Fall of 2020 I expanded my journalism teaching experience to include CRTV (broadcast). I then transfered to Cresthill MS in the Fall of 2022. At CMS I will be teaching CANN (broadcast), Multimedia and STEM. I am really excited to join the CMS family and to get to know the community. When I am not teaching, you will find me spending time with my family, working my makeup business (Younique), my cake business (Caketastic Design), and volunteering my time with the PTO board of my children's schools and at our church in Castle Rock. You can also fine me watching some football on Sundays...Go Broncos! I am a single mom of four wonderful children, a 20-year old daughter, a 12-year old son, a 7-year old daughter and 4-year old son. I am truly blessed!!
