library Expectations
This is OUR library, so please be respectful of this special place and those who enjoy their time here. Those who cannot meet these expectations will be asked to leave the library.
Books:
As you search through books, place unwanted titles in the baskets located around the library. Library aides will reshelve them.
Supplies:
Please return all borrowed supplies you use to the Student Supply Area by the printer.
Trash:
If you have created a mess, please just clean it up. And if you see something that’s not yours, please pick it up. Mrs. Martin loves that!
Games:
Please return all game pieces to the boxes and place them back on the Games Shelf.
Chairs:
Please push in all chairs before leaving the library tables.
Behavior:
Be respectful. There should be no yelling, climbing over furniture, running, or rudeness in the library. Physical and mental safety is a high priority.
technology Expectations
There are over 1,000 computers in this building (team carts, teacher laptops, and desktops).
THAT’S A LOT OF TECHNOLOGY, AND CIMARRON IS EXTREMELY FORTUNATE TO HAVE IT.
BUT…technology is expensive.
PLEASE do your part in helping all of our technology last its expected lifetime.
Students will be held accountable for any technology they damage intentionally. Accidents happen, but please remember the expectations listed below.
Sign out/check out the computer you’re using:
You don’t want to be held accountable for damage someone else made.
Keys and Labels/Stickers:
Unfortunately, this is a huge issue. Don’t bang on the keyboard or pull off keys or labels. You need keys to type, and the labels keep track of devices and their locations.
Keep food and drinks away from devices:
Please, please, please!
Check that nothing is in a computer when you're closing it:
Cracked screens are mainly due to something being crushed between the screen and keyboard.
Return laptops to the CORRECT SLOT:
The numbers mean something, people! They’re not just for show!
Do not pull charging cords:
It takes a long time to put together a computer cart. Please make sure your using the correct charger for your laptops. All chargers reach their laptop.
Promise!
Hold laptops with both hands:
There’s less of a chance you’ll drop the laptop.
Let your teacher know AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if there is a problem:
The sooner Mrs. Martin can get your device, the sooner the problem can be solved!

All things books
Book Check Out
All you need is your Student ID to check out books and materials.
Borrowing Rules for Students
You can borrow three books at a time. The loan period is three weeks.
If you are a 6th or 7th grader, you may only borrow YA books if there is a parent permission slip on file.
The following are the reasons you may not be able to check out materials:
you have lost or overdue books.
you have purposely damaged library materials.
your parent/guardian has requested that you not borrow from the library.
Renewals
Feel free to renew your book for two additional three-week loan periods unless the book has been requested by another student or is a high-demand item.
Please bring the book(s) to the teacher librarian, Mrs. Martin, to renew.
Overdue Books
Mrs. Martin will email overdue reports once a week to students and their parents/guardians.
Materials that are overdue more than 30 days will be marked "LOST" and a fee will be assessed through myschoobucks.com. If the book is returned within one year of the original check-out date, fees can be removed from the student's account.
Lost or Damaged Books
Damaged books should be brought to the teacher librarian for assessment and repair. Do not repair damaged books at home.
The replacement fee for library material lost or damaged will be the full retail value of the materials, as recorded in the library database, not to be less than $10.00. Fees can be paid for through myschoolbucks.com. The library does not accept replacement copies or donations in lieu of payment.
Payment for a lost book WILL NOT BE reimbursed should the book be found.
