Mrs. Martin

Hi! I'm so glad you're here!

My name is Nicole Martin, and I am Cimarron's Teacher Librarian. I am also in charge of our school's technology. This is a new role for me, but I'm not new to Cimarron. I'm going into my 23rd year teaching. For the past 11 years, I have been a language arts teacher at Cimarron on Teams Aztec, Blazer, and Mustang. 

I am looking forward to working with Cimarron's amazing teachers and meeting more students! I've been planning, organizing, and decorating all summer, so please visit the LMC when you can and introduce yourself. I hope you come to enjoy this space as much as I do!

Here are some facts about me:

• I love relaxing with a good book, but when I was a middle schooler, I was a slower reader. 

• My favorite genre is mystery.

• I have a BA in English/Secondary Education and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.

• I am a Level 1 & 2 Google Certified Educator.

• I was Cimarron's Teacher Apple Award Winner for the 2018-19 school year.

• I live in Parker (actually right down the street from CiMS).

• I was born in Illinois and moved to Colorado in 2006 from the Chicago suburbs, but I spent K-6 in Texas.

• My husband, Bruce, is a realtor and land developer.

• My daughter, Elin, is a sophomore at the University of Colorado-Boulder. She loves reading, writing, painting, drawing, and musical theater. She's majoring in English and minoring in Leadership Studies with plans to go into publishing in New York City.

• My son, Andrew, is a senior at Legend and loves gaming, working out, hiking, and rock climbing. He is very interested in studying either Cyber Security or Finance after he graduates high school.

• I have two dogs, Lexie & Teddi, and two cats, Dash & Luna.

• I believe in mindfulness and practice deep breathing techniques as well as meditation.

• I love dark chocolate and Twizzlers.

• I'm very handy around the house and am constantly remodeling.

• I enjoy yoga and pilates. Stretching feels fantastic!

• I love watching NFL football on Sundays in the fall and winter. 

• My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving.

• I think Grogu (AKA Baby Yoda) is THE cutest thing ever. 

• I think it's amazing how J.K. Rowling created an entire world with Harry Potter (Kind of like George Lucas and Star Wars, which I also love!).

• My favorite color is green.

• I have one younger sister who lives in Fort Collins with her husband and their two daughters.
