Well, actually, I don't own the gym. ๐ย But, I do sure like to get students moving in the gym.ย I find it physically and mentally refreshing to lead kids through dynamic warm-ups, exercises, movement activities, and sport games.ย I hope you discover the same physical and mental benefits of being active.
Each week, students learn, experience, and move through a variety of P.E. activities like:
Dodge-and-Evade Games
Calisthenics and Exercises for the whole body
Running for the Golden Shoe Award (given to the class with the highest average # of laps per student)
Team-building activities and Cooperative Gameplay
Activities to challenge our Cardiovascular Endurance, Muscular Endurance & Strength, Balance, Coordination, Agility, Speed, Flexibility, and more
And, of course, lots of activities to learn the rules of and develop motor skills for a variety of Sports
My goal is to develop students who develop a lifelong appreciation for and desire to stay in good physical shape.
During the fall, I, and a group of awesome parent volunteers, lead the BCE Run Club on two mornings (TBD due to new PLC Fridays) before school. ย Obviously, we run lots! ๐๐ ย We also do group exercises, relays, and other movement activities.ย The Run Club usually goes into hibernation / ends when we reach the Fall Break in mid-October.
Then, in the winter and spring, I lead a BCE Fitness Club that works out with a select set of students (about 40) in the gym on two mornings (TBD due to new PLC Fridays) before school.ย I, and a group of dedicated parent volunteers, lead students kid-focused, fun workouts.
