Welcome to the art room!
Hello and welcome! My name is Mrs. Palm and I am so grateful to be able to teach Art to our incredibly talented Bear Canyon Elementary artists. The art room is a perfect space for exploration. I truly believe students grow the most with opportunities to play, collaborate, problem solve, and be creative thinkers!
Mrs. Palm's Welcome Letter
Each week, students explore a wide variety of Art concepts including, but not limited to:
experimenting with various art materials
the use of art elements and principles
exploring different artistic styles throughout history
learning about art from around the world
creating artwork that students can connect to in order to express their level of understanding to specific art content learned in class.
DCSD Art Show
Every year, I have the pleasure of selecting pieces to exhibit in the Douglas County School District Elementary Art Show. I am incredibly proud of all of our BCE artists and it has been my pleasure to be able to display some fantastic examples of what our talented artists have created.
What will we be doing in Art?
Click on the links below to find your student's Art Pacing Guide. In it, you will find the material we cover, including standards, key vocabulary, and project examples. It's important to note that these guides are not concrete. Pacing may be affected by any number of circumstances, from unplanned weather days and special school events, to student lead needs or requests (ex. class majority needing more time). Additionally, project plans may also change due to availability of materials, time constraints that prevent the completion of a successful end result, or Mrs. Palm discovering something NEW AND EXCITING! 😁 I will do my very best to update these pacing guides throughout the school year! Thanks for your support and flexibility!
