"Creativity is seeing what others see and thinking what no one else ever thought."
Today's world is changing faster than ever, and preparing your student for the future means giving them more than just traditional knowledge. Our Innovation & Design program is designed to do exactly that, by providing a hands-on, engaging environment where students learn to think like innovators. Instead of just memorizing facts, they'll tackle real-world challenges, developing essential skills like creativity, critical thinking, and resilience. This process, often called "Design Thinking," teaches them to identify problems, brainstorm solutions, and bounce back from setbacks—a powerful skillset that builds confidence and prepares them to be thoughtful, adaptable creators in any field they choose to pursue!
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
In Innovation & Design, students will build the skills to turn their ideas into reality. They will get hands-on experience with real-world challenges, using a special process called "Design Thinking" to come up with solutions. Working independently or in small groups, students will learn how to pinpoint a problem and figure out how to fix it, as well as brainstorm and build new, creative solutions. They will get to see things from different angles, bounce back and learn from their mistakes, and level up their critical thinking and problem-solving skills, all while getting comfortable with cool new tech. Every class experience will be different and driven based on the class's interests, needs, and mentality.
Device Requirements:
As Innovation & Design is hosted in a fully functioning computer lab, no additional technology is required in the classroom. Students are encouraged to have access to a personal/family device at home to continue or complete any unfinished assignments, as the majority of the content is delivered and managed digitally.
