The first known recording of the DHS agricultural program dates back to 1917, making this program the oldest vocational program in Douglas County High School. Carson Valley FFA was chartered into the DHS Agriculture Program in October of 1929, making our chapter the longest continuous running FFA chapter in the state of Nevada.
Today, FFA is our mandatory Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO), which instills leadership, personal growth, and career readiness skills for our students. All agriculture students automatically become FFA members.
In addition to FFA, agriculture students will experience classroom and laboratory instruction, and implementation of experiential work based learning through Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAE).
