The FFA Creed was written in 1928 by Professor Erwin Milton Tiffany, chief teacher in the Department of Agricultural Education at the University of Wisconsin. The FFA then adopted the creed in 1930 at the third FFA convention.
After adoption, Tiffany wrote, "I have often said that it is the organization that has made the creed what it is, and it is the work of the members and the leaders that has made the organization what it is. Without these, the Creed itself would be meaningless. With them, it may, and I fervently hope that it does, contribute vitally to the spirit which is essential to achievement."
The FFA Creed has since been recited by millions of FFA members and is currently a competitive event at the state and national level.
