I am a proud product of Decatur City Schools, where I graduated from Austin High School in 1995. After high school, I enrolled in the University of North Alabama, where I majored in Social Work and minored in Business Management. I later matriculated to Alabama A&M University where I earned a Masters degree in Elementary Education. After teaching 2nd and 5th grade, I reenrolled in Alabama A&M and received a Certification in School Counseling. Later, I earned both Master's and Educational Specialist degrees from University of Alabama in Birmingham in Instructional Leadership.
I have two children, a son, Xavier, who attends college, and Zoe, who attends Austin High School. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband, Percy, and I enjoy working in my Church, singing, spending time with family, and catching up on new movies.
