How to Read NYSSLS

The New York State Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS) document is similar to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) in the format and coding of the Performance Expectations (PEs), Science and Engineering Practices (SEPs), Disciplinary Core Ideas (DCIs), and Crosscutting Concepts (CCs). The use of color-coding is done to aid in familiarizing teachers with the format and combination of the SEPs, CCs, and DCIs.
