At Oberlin, we have long understood that diversity, in all its forms, is essential to our mission to prepare our students to confront complex issues and spark positive change in the world. Because Oberlin will cover the cost of transportation to and from campus for this program, an application is required.

All transportation, hotel and meal expenses will be provided by The Hearst Foundations. In addition, each delegate is awarded a $10,000 college scholarship for undergraduate studies, with encouragement to pursue coursework in history and political science.

The Young Founders Lab is a Harvard and Stanford alumni-founded startup incubator for high school students looking to launch their own business or non-profit organization. We offer a group program during the summer and a one-on-one individual program throughout the school year. Applications for the Individual Program are now open.
During the Individual Program, students work over the course of 12 weeks with seasoned mentors from a wide range of industries to develop and launch their own impactful initiatives, building on best practices drawn from accelerators like Y-Combinator and honed by Stanford, Harvard, and Oxford alumni. The Pitch Competition Prep Program runs for 10 weeks. Students will have a weekly meeting with their mentor, and in addition, we recommend setting aside 5–6 hours per week for the program.
