This course is designed for those students who are required by major to complete the course. The course is an extension and application of algebra and the graphical representations of functions. The functions include constant, linear, quadratic, absolute value, square root, piecewise, cubic, polynomial, rational, exponential and logarithmic. The course develops topics of exponents, radicals, linear and nonlinear equations and inequalities, and systems of the same. Prerequisite: MATH 102 with a C or better or two years of high school Algebra and either a qualifying score in placement exam or an ACT score of 23 or better.
