In the library, we have books, DVDs, board games, and Launch Pads available for checkout.
You can search for items in our library catalog using the search bar at the top of the page. After you search, make sure to select Dodge City Community College from the drop down menu under “Facility” to make sure that you’re only seeing items that are in our collection.
Once you find an item you’re interested in, you can find it in our collection by looking at the call number. We have a few different types of call numbers that will let you know where a book is in our collection.
Nonfiction Books, Classic Literature, Poetry, and DVDs: Our nonfiction books, classic literature, poetry, and DVDs are shelved using the Dewey Decimal System. Their call numbers will look something like this: 302.23 D7815m 2022.
These books are all shelved upstairs in the library. Our bookshelves are labeled with their Dewey Decimal Numbers to let you know where to look for your book. Most of our DVDs are stored upstairs to the right of the elevator.
Popular Fiction: Our popular fiction books are organized alphabetically by the author's last name. Their call numbers will look something like this: F King 2021. These books are stored on the first floor of the library.
Children’s Books: Our children’s books are organized alphabetically by the author’s last name.
Their call numbers will look something like this: J V798a 1972. Most of these books are stored upstairs to the left of the elevator.
Board Games: Our board games are stored on the first floor of the library. Their call numbers will look something like this: G Monopoly.
Launch Pads: Launch Pads are tablets that are preloaded with educational content, such as language learning software, and games. Our Launch Pads are stored on the first floor of the library. They are organized alphabetically by title. Their call numbers are all: L Launchpad
If you’re having trouble finding the item that you’re looking for, drop by the circulation desk, and someone will be happy to help you.
If we don't have the item you want, fill out an interlibrary loan request form on our website. You can also fill out a paper copy of the form at the circulation desk.
You can check out items at the circulation desk in the library.
Students: If you are a student, you can use your Student ID Card as your library card. We can also find you in our system using your Student ID number or name.
DC3 Employees: If you are employed by Dodge City Community College, you can use your Employee ID Card as your library card. We can also find you in our system using your Employee ID number or name.
Community: We also allow community members to check out items. In order to check out an item for the first time, we ask that you please provide us with your name, contact information, and an official form of identification. Then we will create your account, and we can find you in our system using your name.

There are many computers that are available for use in the library. We have several computers available in the main area of the library, in addition to two computer labs located in rooms 105 and 204.
There is no login required for the library computers. When the computer asks for a password, just press enter.
Our computers are connected to the internet and have Microsoft Office installed.
Printing: In the library, we have FREE black and white and color printing. We do not have wireless printing. So, you will need to use one of our computers in order to print. More information on our computers is listed above.
Copying/Scanning: We also offer FREE black and white copying and scanning in the library. If you would like to scan, you will need to bring a USB flash drive to scan your files onto.
We have three study rooms in the DC3 Library. These are rooms 101, 106, and 115. No reservation is required to use these study rooms. If a study room is not occupied, feel free to use it. If the room is locked, but it doesn’t seem like it’s being used, ask anyone at the circulation desk to unlock the room for you.
Occasionally these rooms may be reserved for meetings or other planned activities.
In our library, we have a creation station stocked with arts and crafts supplies that are free for you to use in the library. We provide acrylic paint, spray paint, brushes, markers, color pencils, washi tape, color paper, sand paper, and more! We also have several machines available for use such as a Cricut, a laminator, a button maker, and a sewing machine. The Cricut, laminator, and button maker are all in the Creation Station area, and the sewing machine is available upon request at the circulation desk.

We have a 3D printer in the library that is free to use! We only ask that you please keep jobs under ten hours.
Please let library staff know if you have any questions or if there are any problems with the 3D printer. Library staff may not be able to answer all questions or fix all 3D printer issues, but we may be able to find someone who can answer your question or fix the 3D printer.
You have access to academic databases for your research! We link to many of these in our library catalog. Some of these include EBSCO Database Resources, Encyclopedia Britannica Academic Edition, Encyclopedia Britannica Spanish Reference Center, HathiTrust Digital Library, NCBI Bookshelf, and more!

The State Library of Kansas provides many excellent resources that you have access to!
E-Card: In order to access State Library of Kansas resources, you’ll need to visit the State Library of Kansas website. To ensure consistent access to State Library of Kansas resources, you should get a State Library of Kansas e-card. We can issue those at the DC3 library. You can request a card in-person at our circulation desk or via phone or email. You will need to provide your first and last name, middle initial, date of birth, and a good email address for you. We do not require you to use your DC3 or conqmail email address. The e-card does not expire when you graduate! Since the card is tied to the State Library of Kansas, you can access the content for as long as you are in the state of Kansas and keep the card renewed.
Databases: The State Library of Kansas provides access to many online databases including Bloom’s Literature, Read It!, History Reference Center, Explora Multi-Search, Issues & Controversies, and more. To browse their full list of databases, visit their Online Databases page.
News Sources: You can access many news sources through the State Library of Kansas. For a broad range of news sources, you can use the database, Newspaper Source Plus. To find information on current world events, you can go to World News Source. You can also access the database U.S. Newsstream, which provides access to articles from national and regional news sources such as the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, and more. Language Learning Software: You can access Mango Languages for free! You can create an account to save your progress or you can use Mango Languages as a guest. They provide over 70 language courses, so the language you’re interested in learning is probably on there! You can find the link on their Databases - Skill Builders page.
Career Tools: You can access career tools such as Career One Stop, Job & Career Accelerator, and Ferguson’s Career Guidance Center through the State Library of Kansas. These sites provide help with finding a career path that is right for you, building a resume and cover letter, preparing for an interview, and more! Ebooks and Audiobooks
You can check out ebooks and audiobooks for free through the State Library of Kansas. You can download a wide selection of ebooks and audiobooks using cloudLibrary. You can also access comic books and graphic novels using Comics Plus!
