The National Honor Society is a program of NASSP, the
leading organization of and national voice for middle level
and high school principals, assistant principals, and all
school leaders from across the United States and more
than 80 countries around the world. The association,
which is located in Reston, VA, provides research-based
professional development and resources and networking
and advocacy opportunities to build the capacity of middle
level and high school leaders to continually improve student performance.
Purpose of NHS:
The purpose of this chapter shall be to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character in students of Ascent Classical Academy of Douglas County.

Thank you to everyone who attended our first NHS meeting yesterday during lunch! I am exceedingly excited about this group of students and all the opportunities we will have this year to serve our school community and develop as leaders.

Service Hour Tracking
Service hours will be tracked using the attached paper Service Hour Log. Please make sure you keep your log up to date throughout the year.

Lunch Cleanup Schedule
The lunch cleanup schedule is attached. Participation is mandatory, so please make sure you are aware of your assigned dates.
NHS Flag Schedule
Please sign up for the NHS flag schedule here. NHS members will be responsible for raising and lowering the flag according to the schedule.
Guardians Booster Club Partnership — Volunteers Needed!
Our partnership with the Guardians Booster Club to help with concessions is a HUGE need this year! Please see the attached document for information and to sign up to volunteer. We already have a need beginning next week, so please consider signing up as soon as possible.
