If you are trying to decide whether or not the Hiram G. Andrews Center is the right fit for you, they offer a two to three week evaluation that includes an opportunity for you to "try out" some of the program areas to determine whether or not that program matches your interests and skills.
If staying for two to three weeks seems too long for you, there is an evaluation known as CREATE that is a one week long evaluation.
If you are experiencing difficulty with your academic and occupational skills, which would be determined during your evaluation, a remediation program is offered. The program is called Center for Occupational Readiness (COR) and provides remediation in math, English, reading, and life management skills. This programs aims to prepare students to meet employer expectations in order to be successful in the work place.
There is a recreation room that offers some of the following activities: sewing, crafts, games, television room, dances, and much more!
In addition, there are activities that are offered off-campus such as sporting events, hiking, kayaking, skiing, etc. These activities are of little to no cost to students.
Refer to this resource to gain more information about what the Hiram G. Andrews Center has to offer for your student. Some of the topics covered in this resource are: philosophy of the center, student services, recreation, transition living, health services, and the programs of study.
