To-bring List
The contents below give boarders @ DBS some ideas on what they should or should not bring to the Boarding School:
You MUST bring:
Clothing* (school uniformX3, belt, P.E. clothes, swimming gears, casual wears, underwear, socks, etc.), clothes hangers, shoes + shoe brush and polish, slippers
Towels, napkin, cleaning cloth
Bedsheets (36” X 72”) X2, pillow + pillowcases, blankets*
Shampoo, body wash, toothbrush + toothpaste, comb
Tissue papers, toilet papers
Table lamp, socket extension
Text books, school bag, stationery
Water bottle, cup, other simple eating utensils (e.g. bowl, spoon, fork, dinner/lunch box, etc.)
Pad Lock (for wardrobe use)
Alarm clock
* Please use permanent marker or ironed labels to indicate your LAUNDRY ID on every single piece of your clothing. Also note that the laundry shall not be responsible for washing jackets, pull-overs, blazers or blankets / quilts / duvets. Boarders are advised to let the Laundry wash their bedsheet, pillowcase and blanket covers 1 to 2 times per month. When using a laundry bag, only one piece of clothes should be contained.
You MIGHT bring:
Computer (notebook or laptop types, with earphone/headphone, BUT speaker)
Music instruments
Mobile phone, tablet, radio
Personal effects (e.g. photos, small posters, etc. to personalise your space)
You must NOT bring:
Large sums of money
Valuables, e.g. expensive watch, luxury pen, etc.
Weapons and dangerous items (e.g. sharp objects such as knife, laser, lighters, incense, etc.)
Medicine and Drugs (All medicine must be registered and kept with the Boarding Houseparent)
Alcohol and tobacco
Offensive and inappropriate items
Furniture + large electrical appliances (refrigerator, TV, cooker, kettle, fans, heater, etc.)
Pet
Game console
Unicylcle, monowheel, bicycle, skateboard, etc.
Any other items that are prohibited by the law.
