Trip 2019-20

On 9th March 2019, Around 40 students accompanied by three teachers – Dr. Subasini Barik (TIC), Dr. Minakshi Singh and Ms. Preeti Jain, paid a visit to the old age home carrying some refreshments. There are 110 inmates in the home. Miss Jyoti, the caretaker of the home explained in detail about the background of the home and how they manages to rescue the abandoned old people from railway stations, bus stops, market places etc. Many are even dropped off at the home by their own kith and kin. Students raised countless queries related to the inmates and their care. It was really a poignant experience for all the students to visit the old age home and interact with its inmates. This visit was a huge learning experience for the young citizens and after spending three valuable hours, the students vowed to do something for senior citizens and contribute towards the betterment of their condition.

After old age home visit, in second part we visited Waste to Wonder Park. The park has replicas of the seven wonders, namely, Taj Mahal, Great Pyramid of Giza, Eiffel Tower of Paris, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Christ the Redeemer Statue of Rio De Janeiro, Rome’s Colosseum and the Statue of Liberty of the United States of America. In this visit students raised many questions and learnt that this park is very much innovative and creativity is at high level and students feels that this is an educative idea as how waste material were utilized and student found that these kind of parks also contribute in conservation of resources and through innovative ideas one also monetize waste material.
