Department of Philosophy

The Department of Philosophy was established in the year 1952, thus is as old as the college itself. It has an B.A Programme course run by four dedicated faculty members. The Department's main motto is to facilitate students in developing philosophical and rational attitude while giving importance to the articulation and prioritization of ethical values. So it emphasizes on inculcating various rational and logical thinking skills by engaging students in philosophical deliberations and discussions on various ethical, epistemological and metaphysical issues using critical inquiry and dialectical approach, thereby readying them to be a good researchers, thinkers and responsible human beings contributing to the well being of society.
