My inspiration for this project came from the Ferrari logo
I imported the logo into illustrator and traced it out using the pen tool. I then saved it as a DXF.
Fusion 360
I imported the DXF into fusion to create my sketch.
I extruded the sketch 1/2 an inch to match the thickness of my wood
I created a stock that was just larger than my piece of wood. I then created 3 tool paths. The first was a 2d contour to cut around the outline with a 1/4 downcut bit. I also used this but to cut a 2d pocket around the horse and text
My other 2 tool paths made use of a 1 1/2 inch 90 degree v-bit. This bit allowed me to cut really fine details. The first tool path was an engrave which I used to cut out the remaining material that the pocket couldn't get. The second was an engrave which I used to cut out fine details on the horse like the eyes.
Milling
I cut out my piece on the forest cnc router.
I designed the stand in illustrator using the pen tool
My stand was plasma cut on 12 gauge steel using the forest plasma cutter
Finishing Touches
I used and angle grinder to clean off the slag and then an orbital to smooth and finish the surface of the stand. Finally, I bent the piece using a sheet metal bender to my completed functioning stand. With that My piece was complete
