This has been a terrific week of leading and learning at Sorgho! I hope our families were able to "sharpen your saw" during fall break. Our students came back ready to learn. We ended the week with celebrations! It makes a principal so proud to see all the smiling faces at our 1st 9 Week Celebration Assembly. Please check out pictures below of this fun event.

Next week is Red Ribbon Week and we will celebrate making the wise choice to be drug free by having dress up days. So, work on getting those outfits ready!! Most of these dress days were chosen by our Student Lighthouse Team members.
Monday, October 23: No Sweat, We’re Drug Free. Wear your sweats or athletic clothing to school.
Tuesday, October 24: Crazy Hair Day. Fix your hair in a crazy style.
Wednesday, October 25: Twin Day. Find a friend and come dressed as twins
(triplets, quadruplets, or more)
Thursday, October 26: Begin with the End In Mind Day: Come dressed like your future career.
(examples: firefighter, nurse, baker, hairdresser, scientist)
Friday, October 27: Sock it to Drugs. Come dressed like the 1950’s and we will have a Sock Hop in the gym.
Our annual Veterans Day program will be on Wednesday, November 8th at 9:00 am. If you want a picture of a veteran in the video, please make sure to fill out the form that was sent home this week and return it to school by Friday, November 3rd. If you want a personal invitation sent to a veteran, please fill out that form and return no later than Monday, October 23. Our guest speaker this year is Mr. Keith Cain, retired Daviess County Sheriff and veteran. We ask that students and staff wear patriotic colors on this day!!
