Our Habit this month is Begin with the End in Mind! We've learned how having a plan can help us get through the day and be successful leaders. Working with a clear plan can help us get through the work and on to all the fun things! The last week of October was Red Ribbon Week, and we talked about how drugs can hurt our body, so we should always make good choices to be our best!
November's Habit is... Put First Things First!
"It's okay to feel your feelings!"
We are learning so much in the Fundations curriculum. We are learning letter formation and sounds! Geodes books we have been learning include the Red Barn Farm and Peach Picking!
We have learned all letters and letter sounds! We are learning how to write the capital letters now. Keep working on writing these letters on correct lines and pointing out things at home or in the car that start with these sounds. Also point out any rhyming words you hear! We are really focusing on tapping out words.
Upcoming Learning Focus: CVC words
We are now in our Unit 3: Trees. We are learning about living and non living things. All living things need air, water, and food. We are diving into the details of this and using criteria to determine if items are living or not living.
In our reading rotations, we work in smaller groups on our letters and reading. We are practicing writing our letters correctly and even beginning to write words! We are also working on tapping out letters. Please continue to work on the helping them sound out words when they see them.
We're working in our fourth math module. This unit focuses on number bonds.
Using number sentences to break down numbers. Example: 5 is 2 and 3 or 6 and 4 and 2. We will be sending home a weekly practice sheet.
