Well it's hard to believe this will be the final Wildcat Weekly for this school year. It has truly gone by so quickly. I know our Wildcats have been working so hard all year becoming a better leader and learner. I am one proud principal to say the least! We have the best students, staff and families. Like I said one our very first Wildcat Weekly this year, "Your child's success depends on having a supportive and positive school-home connection." Students achieve so much more when they know school is valued. Thank you so much! It's been a great year!
This last week we have so many opportunities to highlight our leaders. Before we can do that though, we must finish strong with our KSA assessment. We will have our 5th graders testing on Editing & Mechanices and On-Demand Writing. Also, if your child has missed an assessment, they will be making that up. Please remember all assessments must be complete before your child is allowed to participate in any end of the year fun.

Counselor's Corner
Well, I cannot believe that I am saying this, but I am retiring!!! Oh my goodness, what a flood of emotions for me. This has not been an easy choice to make because I absolutely love, love, love my Sorgho Family!! I love the terrific staff I have worked with for 27 years!! And I love our students and their wonderful families. But it is time for me to spend more time with my own family and especially my new granddaughter that was born just a few months ago. Every child, every parent/guardian, every teacher and staff member has made an impact on my life. I just hope and pray that I have helped each of you somehow along the way!! I will leave part of my heart right here at Sorgho School. Blessings to each and every one of you. Remember to do your best to make a positive difference in the lives of others!!
Your School Counselor!!

Habit 8: Find Your Voice and Inspire Others to Find Theirs
People who have found their voice focus on expanding their circle of influence, being trustworthy, building trust, blending the voices of others, and creating a common vision. They align goals and systems and empower others.
Ways to Practice Find Your Voice
Try something new like painting, horseback riding, or baseball. Then ask yourself: Did I enjoy myself? Was it easy or hard? Do I want to learn more?
Go to the library or search the internet to find reading material on new things. What kinds of things spark your interest? What do you want to continue learning about?
Plan some time to help someone in need. How did the experience make you feel?
Last Day of School is Friday, May 17th. Our office will be open through the end of May.
