This week our wildcats have been so busy leading and learning. As I visit classrooms, our students are hard at work. I am proud to see them be responsible learners.

Please be sure to clear your calendar for our upcoming "Journey of Learning" night where parents are invited to come hear all about what's going on at Sorgho and ways to help your child be successful. We will be serving a spaghetti dinner so no need to worry about dinner plans that night. Please see the schedule and make plans to be here. If you are in attendance at your child's grade level talk and attend at least one other session, your child's name will be put in a drawing for special prizes. So make plans to be here next Thursday night from 5:00-7:00. Can't wait to see you!

Find out how to access your child's Infinite Campus Parent Portal. This app allows you to get notifications of grades and attendance. The Talking Points app will allow you access of how to communicate daily with the school.
Come find out all about the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. At this session you will find out how we embed this social emotional curriculum into our daily lessons in order to build student leaders who take charge of their own learning.
Find out ways that your student can get involved in order to promote the whole child.
3rd grade teachers will share resources with you on ways you can help your child at home become stronger in math.
4th grade teachers will share resources with you on ways you can help your child at home become stronger in math.
5th grade teachers will share resources with you on ways you can help your child at home become stronger in math.
1st grade teachers will share information about early literacy and the importance of building phonemic awareness.
Our reading interventionist will share ways to help your child become a stronger reader by practicing skills nightly at home.
What is your role as a parent in your child's education? Come hear from our Family Resource Coordinator and Assistant Principal on ways you can better prepare your child to be successful in school.
Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw: Come hear about the importance of taking care of your health and well-being so that your child to be more successful at school. Connections teachers will share how we are incorporating this habit into our learning in order to take care of the mind, body, heart and spirit.
2nd grade teachers will share information about helping your child build stronger literacy skills at this critical year of learning.
Surviving Kindergarten for both the students and parents....enough said. Come hear ways you can work with your kindergartener at home and make learning fun.

Congratulations to our very own MJ and Blakely for being crowned this year's Little Miss and Mister Daviess County at this year's Daviess County Fair. I love that our Wildcats represented our county and school at the state fair. Way to go Wildcats!
