Preparing Scholar-Athletes for Successful Careers in Business & Finance
About the Program
Are you interested in a career in business & finance? If yes, consider applying to join the Summer 2024 Pro 'Cats Business & Finance Bootcamp. This largely self-paced, virtual program will provide scholar-athletes the opportunity to prepare for careers in business & finance, whether they have a current internship or are competing in their respective sport throughout the summer. The program combines mentorship, technical training, and professional development in preparation for future internships & full-time opportunities, all while working around your individual summer schedule.
Program Sessions (Subject to change)
While most of the program will be self-paced on participants' time, there will be approximately 6 live sessions via Zoom. These dates will be confirmed in May once participants have been selected, and will be recorded when possible.

Session 1: Banking 101 Alumni Panel
Session 2: LinkedIn & Networking 101
Session 3: “A Day in the Life” Alumni Panel
Session 4: Understanding the Timelines of Business & Finance/Interview Prep 101
Session 5: Mock Interview Night
Session 6: Closing Session
Participant Requirements
The average weekly commitment will be 5-10 hours. Students will complete the following:
Create an approved resume & up-to-date LinkedIn profile
Complete basic Training the Street modules in Excel Modeling, Corporate Valuation, and Financial Statement Analysis (~15-20 hours total); recommended to complete full modules (~45 hours total)
Attend required professional development sessions throughout the program
Meet with assigned mentor regularly
(Optional) Complete a job shadow or micro-internship with an alum or local employer – based on location and availability. May apply for funding to cover costs.
Eligibility
Rising sophomore, junior, or senior scholar-athlete
Demonstrated interest in the fields of business & finance
