About the Program
The Pro 'Cats Business & Finance Bootcamp is designed for scholar-athletes interested in careers in business & finance. This largely self-paced, virtual program will provide scholar-athletes the opportunity to prepare for careers in business & finance, whether they have a current internship or are competing in their respective sport throughout the summer. The program combines mentorship, technical training, and professional development in preparation for future internships & full-time opportunities, all while working around your individual summer schedule.
Mentor Requirements
Each mentor should plan to meet with each mentee at least 2-3 times throughout the summer. If geographically compatible for the student, at least one in-person meeting and/or one-day job shadow is encouraged.
For reference, participating scholar-athletes are required to complete the following:
Create an approved resume & up-to-date LinkedIn profile
Complete basic Training the Street modules in Excel Modeling, Corporate Valuation, and Financial Statement Analysis (~15-20 hours total); recommended to complete full modules (~45 hours total)
Attend required professional development sessions throughout the program
Meet with assigned mentor regularly
(Optional) Complete a job shadow or micro-internship with an alum or local employer – based on location and availability. May apply for funding to cover costs.
