In March, 14 students attended the eighth annual Davidson on Wall Street career trek to experience a firsthand look at some of the country’s top names in financial services. In addition to visiting six firms, students were able to explore New York City and attend a networking event with local Davidson alumni. Several of the 2025 participants have already secured summer 2026 internships with firms such as Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Battery Ventures, and Leerink.
Host sites for this career trek included: JPMorgan, Wells Fargo, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, BlackRock, and Training the Street.
A group of 12 sophomore, junior and senior students took a portion of Spring Break in March 2025 and traveled to "RTP" in Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina to meet with various employers, graduate school programs and alumni in the Biotech industry. Students attended info sessions to explore these careers and were able to tour different facilities as well. On the Monday evening of the trip, students heard from an alumni panel who are in the Biotech field. Following the panel session, students were able to practice their networking skills and make helpful connections.
Organizations visited included: Pfizer, Tune Therapeutics, BASF, Pairwise, KBI Biopharma, Upstream Biotech, PolarisQB, North Carolina State's Institute for Plant Science, Duke University's Biomedical Engineering Program, and NC State's Plant Sciences Graduate Program.
A group of 12 students, ranging first year to seniors, were selected to participate in a career exploration trek to New York City, NY during Spring Break 2025. Students experienced unparalleled discovery, learning, professional development, and networking with employers and alumni in the New York City area under the supervision of the Matthews Center for Career Development. This career trek empowered student participants to further develop their understanding of the challenges and opportunities in pursuing a variety of careers.
Organizations visited included: BlackRock Investment Management, GroupM, Lippe Taylor, Luminary, Public Policy Lab, The New York Times, and WNBA.
A group of 10 students took a portion of Fall Break to gain valuable insights through visiting local employers in Charlotte and meaningful networking with local alumni and professionals. This experience deepened their understanding of both the challenges and opportunities associated with exploring diverse career paths. Site visits for this career trek included: TIAA, Belk, and YWCA Central Carolinas.
The mission of the Davidson Impact Fellowship Program (DIF) is to provide high-impact fellowship positions for graduating Davidson students with key nonprofit leaders at the forefront of critical social issues. DIF empowers postgraduate fellows to create and implement solutions to problems confronting communities, fostering leadership, and promoting robust social change in areas of health, education, policy, social justice and the environment.
