Over the course of the 2023-204 year, the Matthews Center team advanced its focus on exposing students to a variety of companies and graduate/professional school programs through large-scale events and in smaller group settings. The team coordinated 139 employer events and connected students through on-campus information sessions, workshops, information tables, interviews and virtual sessions.
The Matthews Center welcomed 44 employer partners to campus on October 24, 2023 to participate in its inaugural career fair. Students from all classes had the opportunity to meet with local and national employers to learn about different career paths, internships, and full-time opportunities. With over 260+ students in attendance, the event was a large success.
In its second large-scale career fair of the year, the Matthews Center welcomed 24 employer partners in business & technology to campus on February 20, 2024 to participate in its inaugural business & tech career fair. Students from all classes had the opportunity to meet with local and national employers to learn about different career paths, internships, and full-time opportunities in business and technology. The event saw attendance from 65+ students and featured several alumni employer partners.
The Matthews Center welcomed 40 employers and graduate/professional school partners to campus on March 25, 2024 to participate in its annual health career fair, returning in-person for the first time since 2019. Students from all classes had the opportunity to meet with employers to learn about different career paths, research, and internship/full-time opportunities. With over 120+ students in attendance, the event was a large success.
In the Fall of 2022, the Matthews Center piloted a new format for consulting and finance employer engagement with students in the form of Employer Info Session Nights (EISN). These sessions were designed to allow students to engage with multiple employers over the course of a one hour block, and let employers meet with a wide range of interested students. This format continued into the 2023-2024 year during which 2 separate events were offered in Fall 2023 and engaged a total of 13 employers and 130+ students. A sampling of participating employers includes Wells Fargo, JPMorgan, Ally, Bain, Deloitte, and Accenture.
