Why volunteer at Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums
If you would like to write to residents at the care homes and hospices, that would be so kind.
Our sixth form community service students visit these placements weekly, but you may prefer to write to your own grandparents, family, friends or the residents at your local residential care home.
The elderly and poorly can feel very lonely and your cards and letters will brighten their day.
Send a card, tell them you are from Dame Allan's and that we are thinking about them
Write about your favourite subjects, hobbies, plans, food etc
Tell them what your aspirations/dreams are
Write an inspirational quotation
Create some artwork / draw them a picture
Keep positive and think about what will make them smile
You don't need to add your personal home address but can add your name and Dame Allan's if you like to personalise it.
