Cycle

  • The participant confirms that the bicycle they are riding for the event and all of their equipment is of a suitable standard and state of roadworthiness (if travelling on a road) suitable for the distance selected.

  • All cyclists must make sure their brakes are in proper working condition.

  • Each cyclist should wear adequate clothing and be suitably equipped to deal with adverse weather.

  • Each cyclist should ideally have their own personal accident and third party insurance. No cyclist insurance is provided by us.

  • Each cyclist will be fully responsible for any fees or costs incurred or arising from an accident either involving or caused by the cyclist. This includes, but is not exclusive to, fees from Police, Fire and Rescue and the Ambulance service.

  • Our events are not ‘closed road’ events and cyclists share the road with other users. Cyclists are requested to ride in single file where appropriate and no more than 2 abreast at any time. Cyclists should be aware of fellow cyclists and any other traffic. Leave spaces between groups of cyclists to allow cars to overtake safely. Please always indicate your intention to stop or change direction.

  • Cyclists must be considerate to other road users. Upon seeing other users, such as other vehicles, riders and walkers, cyclists are required to slow down and pass with care. Where appropriate, cyclists should stop and wait at the side of the road for other users such as cars, motorcycles and pedestrians to pass safely.

  • Participants take part in the Event at their own risk and the Organiser, their sponsors and their appointed officials shall not be liable for any death or injury, loss or damage, suffered or otherwise, and howsoever arising from the Event.

  • The Organiser reserves the right, without any liability whatsoever, to take such actions as it deems proper and reasonable for the safety of all or any Participants.
