Salmon Life History
This module introduces students to the salmon life cycle and guides them to think about the concept of trade-offs in biology. Students complete a hands-on activity, learn about life history evolution, and consider how climate change could affect salmon life history and evolution.

Objectives
Through this lesson, students will:
Learn about the typical life cycle of salmon and variation in that life cycle.
Learn about trade-offs in life history by discussing the costs and benefits of salmon migration.
Learn about and utilize a technique using fish scales to determine the age and life history of individual fish.
Synthesize their new knowledge regarding salmon growth and life history to discuss how climate change might affect salmon behavior and evolution.
