We pride ourselves in providing a space in which the Dartmouth student community can interact directly with Upper Valley community members.
We are a Dartmouth club, organized and led in large part by students. This gives students essential opportunities to take agency and responsibility for the society.
One of our main goals is to bring the joy of tango music and dancing to as many students and community members as possible. Because of this, all weekly sessions are free to all undergraduate Dartmouth Students. A small fee may be applicable to community members, but we do NOT want this to be a barrier. Please see us if you have concerns. Additionally, most of our dance sessions do not require any experience meaning all are welcome to participate. Moreover, our dance sessions require no special equipment; we only recommend that members wear comfortable clothes and not-so-sticky shoes to allow for smoother movement on the floor.
We believe that one of the most important elements of tango is the human connection between dancers in a pair and the community around them. Our dance sessions are structured to promote this connection by regularly changing dance partners, changing leading and following roles, and inviting socializing among participants.
Another important aspect of tango for our community is having fun while doing it!
