For rising 6th grade through current 12th grade students
The Darlington County School District has partnered with the P.L. & Belle Wolf McCall School of Visual & Performing Arts Department and the ArtSummer program is now held on Coker University's campus. Through ArtSummer Intensive, students have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the study of a specific arts discipline for three weeks. The arts disciplines are visual arts, media arts, dance, theater, instrumental & vocal music.
ArtSummer Intensive is a three-week course designed to provide recognition, encouragement, and enrichment for young, talented student artists. During the three weeks, students will have many opportunities to show dedication, accountability, take risks, and express themselves in their various arts disciplines.
The program will operate June 9 - 27, 8:15am - 12:30, Monday through Friday. Shuttle transportation will be provided from a central location for students living in Darlington, Lamar, and Society Hill. Students living in Hartsville will need to provide their own transportation.

There is a $40 registration fee. Payment can be submitted once your child has received an acceptance letter. FINAL acceptance emails will be emailed to accepted students on April 18, 2025. Cash or money orders made out to Darlington County School District will be due by May 8, 2025 on the night of the parent meeting at Coker University. You may also pay online in your student's powerschool account.

Eligibility is based on the following:1. The student must be current students in Darlington County School District.2. The student must must be rising 6th graders through current 12th graders at the time of application.3. The student must demonstrate talent, achievement, and/or potential in the arts. Although selection is not based on academic achievement, a transcript may be reviewed to establish the learning, commitment, and achievement patterns of the students applying.
Selection Process:
1. Submission of application.2. Transcript and a teacher recommendation from current arts teacher.3. Audition in selected arts area if needed.
